Even though we’ve never met you, we’ve been praying throughout our adoption journey that God would guide you with His love and wisdom as you consider whether to place your baby with another family. If you do choose the path of adoption, we can’t imagine how hard it is to select who will raise your child, so we pray daily that God directs you to the family that will love and care for your baby in a way that brings you peace and joy. We hope this book gives you a sense of the incredible love, nurturing, stability, and support your child will be given every day of their life.
It All Started When...
We met in 2003 in grad school in Boston. Kurt says he met Helen at a party, while Helen first remembers him from a compliment he gave her while they were hanging out with friends in the Student Center on campus. Either way, it’s been a lot of love, laughter, and fun travels ever since!

The last 15 years have been a journey of growth, love, and exploration. Together, we've embraced every moment, whether it's been through our work, our travels, or the simple joys of everyday life. Now, as we stand at this new chapter in our lives, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. We are ready to take the next step in our journey by expanding our family through adoption. Our hearts are open, and we can't wait to welcome a child into our lives and share all the love and joy that we have to give.

Helen
I grew up in a close-knit family of six, moving frequently but always relying on each other. We cherish our Sunday calls and daily chats, and I have fond memories of sports and breakfast outings with my mom. Our family traditions, like the 'OG' breakfasts, are something I look forward to sharing with our child. My parents' commitment to church and family dinners will continue in our home, and I'm excited to introduce our little one to the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle through morning workouts together.
Kurt
I'm a proud Chicagoan, the oldest of five siblings in a close-knit family. Despite not having much growing up, we found joy in simple pleasures and spending time together. My interest in sports, math, science, business, and investing was fostered by my upbringing, especially by my business-minded mom who now runs our family business. Alongside my family, I've been blessed with incredible friends from different stages of my life, with whom I stay connected through regular Zoom catch-ups discussing career, family, faith, and life.
Boston
Meet Boston, the heart and soul of our family, named after the city where we met. This Miniature Schnauzer is not just incredibly cuddly and sweet but also a certified therapy and reading dog, bringing joy to children in hospitals and schools across Chicago. Boston's loving nature and gentle spirit make him a favorite among kids and strangers alike. He's eagerly awaiting the arrival of his little brother or sister to snuggle with and play in the park.

One of the main reasons we're so committed to the path of adoption is because Helen's younger twin brothers were adopted when they were two years old. We know the deep love that naturally develops when a family grows through adoption and can't wait to experience that with our own child.
Our child will have an instant connection with his or her uncles and will have a shared experience with our entire family. We also have several friends who have adopted their kids and they've been so helpful and supportive during our journey. We're grateful that our child will know so many other adoptive families so they can experience that connection and feel even more secure in their own adoption story.

We've waited a long time for this moment. In the beginning of our marriage we were focused on settling into married life and building our careers. Later we were focused on solidifying the foundation of our loving relationship, our faith and being there for each other and our families through all that life brings. Now, we are ready to share that love and expand it by growing our family. We've always known that we wanted to be parents and we've always wanted to do so on a strong foundation of faith, love and family, and we can't wait to provide that for a child. We want our child to be surrounded by as much love as possible and hope that you will remain a part of their life.

Whether he's engaging everyone on a bus ride or dancing in the kitchen to Jay-Z, Afrobeats, or Stevie Wonder, Kurt's energy and charm are contagious. He's not just a financial wiz; he's also a thoughtful connector of people and a go-to for wise counsel. Kurt's love and energy extend to our relationship, where he surprises me with annual trips and plans family retreats for major decisions. I have no doubt he'll be an amazing dad, nurturing our child's mind and spirit with the same love and energy he devotes to us.
